I have always had allergies to certain ingredients in store bought seasonings mixes and now with my husband on FodMap we have to be even more careful with store bought mixes.  Making the mixes at home is super easy and a great way to save money. This same amount of mix would cost about $4.00 to buy the individual mixes and cost mere pennies to make at home & helps use spices that frequently go stale before they get used up.

2 tablespoons corn starch

4 teaspoons chili powder

2 teaspoons kosher salt

2 teaspoons paprika

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon onion powder (depending on your sensitivities this can be eliminated or reduced)

¾ teaspoon cumin

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

½ teaspoon chipotle pepper

Add to a mason jar and shake to combine. Use a few tablespoons to taste in your Mexican recipes.
